I love the emphasis this Christmas on the handmade gift! Even if you are not the traditional 'green thumb', these little terrariums are simple to put together and would make a charming gift. An interesting glass container, a handful of moss, a twig from the yard and a colorful mercury glass mushroom ornament and you are on your way to a stylish, handmade gift. Etsy has some incredible resources for terrariums from interesting little terrarium ornaments to moss and succulents. There is also a great new book out this Fall ~ The New Terrarium: Creating Beautiful Displays for Plants and Nature.
