Day {5} Homemade Parsian Hot Chocolate

{All the Beautiful Christmas}

Do something extra special with the kiddos this Christmas like making hot chocolate with real chocolate!

Parisian Hot Chocolate

2 cups whole milk
5 ounces bittersweet chocolate, (with at least 70% cacao solids), finely chopped
2 tablespoons light brown sugar {optional}

Heat the milk in a medium-sized saucepan. Once the milk is warm, whisk in the chocolate, stirring until melted and steaming hot. For a thick hot chocolate, cook at a very low boil for about 3 minutes, whisking frequently. Be careful and keep an eye on the mixture, as it may boil up a bit during the first moments. Taste, and add brown sugar if desired. Makes four ‘Parisian-sized’ Servings. This hot chocolate improves if made ahead and allowed to sit for a few hours. Rewarm before serving. I also like to add a few flecks of fleur de sel, the very good sea salt from Brittany.

Make cut paper snowflakes for your windows. My daughter and I used to spend hours cutting snowflakes. We decorated all the french doors across the back of the house. It's important not to get to serious about your decorations and have more fun in their creation and the memories you make with the little ones {because one day soon they will be BIG like mine!}
